“High prevalence of dyslipidemia in India makes it account for 50% of coronary heart
disease events,” says Dr. PC Manoria.
“In the Indian context, diabetes is rampant, triglyceride levels are high and HDL levels
are low. Total cholesterol and LDL levels are also high but not to the extent compared to
the West,” she talks about Indian dyslipidemia’s distinction from the west.
