Dr.Sunit Hazra

I am Dr. Sunit Hazra working as an arthroscopic surgeon and assistant professor at Medical College, Kolkata. There was this patient who came to me with severe ankle pain and we investigated the patient. Then with x-ray and MRI, we found that he has a big osteolytic lesion in his talar bone which is just below his ankle joint. Thinking of how to deal with this problem,we came up with an idea of doing it innovatively, I wanted to do it arthroscopically because I am an arthroscopic surgeon and with this the patient gets a benefit of the minimally invasive procedure and the patient does not have to wait too long after the operation for his rehabilitation. So, we did an arthroscopic bone cementing and on searching in the internet we found that this type of procedure has not been done before in the talus. So, we thought that this would be a good paper and since the patient was also doing well after the surgery, we thought of presenting this paper in the IAS 2014 and have got selected. So it's really nice, we have met lot of the international faculty and shared our experience and learned their tips and tricks also. So, I am best of knowledge in orthopedics as well, so it is enriched with academic environment in this IAS.
